Every embedded project needs to have power, usually 5 VDC and/or 3.3VDC. A switcher power supply provides high efficiency (= low heat) and a linear provides great regulation while smoothing out the high transients. The VP-PSDC-05-033 power supply has both and is designed for prototypes.
Schematic
The heart of the design is the LM2594-ADJ Switching Regulator. This provides a wide input voltage of up to 40 VDC, making it ideal for wall adapter power supplies in the 9, 12, 15 and 24 VDC range.
