Automation Interfaces for the Raspberry Pi

VP Process Inc. has recently released 2 interfaces for the Raspberry Pi that are used in industrial automation applications. Both interfaces have isolated software defined analog inputs, digital inputs, and relay outputs. The SPi-SPI-DIN-2x4MIO also has 2 analog 4-20 mA outputs. Both interfaces sport power supply inputs of 24 VDC and 12 VDC for industrial and mobile applications as well as RS485 and Battery Backed Real Time Clocks.

Node-Red support is now available for these modules.

PI-SPI-DIN-2x4MIO

2 Isolated Analog Inputs, 2 Analog 4-20mA Outputs, 2 Isolated Digital Inputs, 2 Relay Outputs.

PI-SPI-DIN-RTC-RS485-4AI-4KO-8DI

4 Isolated Analog Inputs, 8 Isolated Digital Inputs and 4 Relay Outputs.

All automation series of products are 100% compatible with the PI-SPI-DIN series of modules and the "libwidgetlords" software libraries for system expansion.

SDAFE™

Software Defined Analog Front End - these plug in analog input modules can be configured as either 4-20 mA, 1-5 VDC or 0-10 VDC (plus other ranges). Isolation is provided using Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology. (Up to 2500 Vrms between input to output).

Input resolutions (factory calibrated) provide readings that are +/- .006 mA and VDC over the full input range. Communication to the Raspberry Pi is via the PI-SPI-DIN port's SPI buss.

System Expansion

VP Process has also released the PI-SPI-DIN-SDAFE-E expansion module. This module supports 4 SDAFE modules, has 5 chip selects and 4 addresses allowing for up to another 20 SDAFE modules. The interfacing is via the PI-SPI-DIN I/O port on each module.

What's Next!

VP Process Inc. has in development Isolated and Non-Isolated SDAFE HART enabled modules, Thermocouple and RTD interfaces and Frequency/Pulse Counter Interface. All new modules will be 100% compatible with the above modules.
